(Via Left I on the News) comes this story on the US secret prison and illegal prison network off the AP wire.
Hey. I'm a die-in-the-wool cynic but even I was surprised at the extent. I don't think I've ever sat down and thought about in these terms but 14,000 is beyond what I expected. Based on what we know about the Guantanamo inmates I would suggest that we are talking about, at the very least, 5000 and probably more like 8000 or 10000 innocent people being held beyond the reach of the law (or as the Decider (TM) likes to call itn justice).
Makes ya swell up with pride at being an American, don't it?
