41 million USD from a bond issue by the Louisiana Stadium & Expedition District
115 million USD from FEMA
That's right. 62% of the funding came from FEMA. How many homes would that have built? How many classrooms?
A year after the destruction there still is no plan to rebuild the ninth ward, if you were a renter before the storm you're probably shit out of luck, hospitals and schools are still under capacity but there will be Monday Night (American) Football next week.
