It has been 3 years and nearly 5 months since President Codpiece's "mission accomplished" photo op on a carrier. One wonders if he knows the meaning of the words.
Yesterday the UN released a profoundly discouraging report on the level of civilian deaths in Iraq over the past two months. Nearly 7,000 are reported killed by UN figures which they admit may be understated. These are the deaths that the US military can't be bothered to keep track of.
At the same time the US military admits that attacks against US soldiers have increased and volience associated with sectarian "death squads" is on the rise.
Meanwhile our government's strategy for Iraq remains "stay the course" and for Iran it's "here we come!".
