I know there's a water shortage in the south of England but Sutton & East Surry Water may be going too far in attempting to cut usage by telling customers that they are dead.
A Surrey woman who returned home after a stay in hospital found a letter from the water board informing her that the direct debit arrangement had been cancelled due to her death.
Interestingly the letter also provided instructions as to how to contact the firm for "advice on how this will affect the water charges for the property". Did they suggest a séance perhaps?
