Elkport Iowa - Adieu

Contracters are preparing to level Elkport, Iowa in the next few days. The small town was flooded out two and a half years ago by the Elk Creek (here in the UK it would be a river) and declared a federal disaster area. The 86 residents all accepted a buy out from the federal government. (Only 2.5 years - this must have been before "Heckofajob" Brownie was in charge.) At least the baseball diamonds will be saved.

With no hint of irony the web service Weather Underground is still offering weather forecasts for Elkpot. Appropriately enough it seems that it's due to rain.
