Catching a chill

Increasingly irrelevant US Secretary of State Conocoleeza Rice is on a visit to Russia to try and smooth out the edges in Ameri-Russian relations. Currently the major bone of contention between the two parties is American plans for the deployment of elements of the son-of-the-son-of-the-son-of-Star Wars missile defence shield in Eastern Europe. Ms. Rice is taking pains to say that there is to be no new cold war between the two nuclear powers.

The best reason I can see to believe her is that the Commander Guy likes to skip the cold wars and go straight to the hot ones.
