With both eyes firmly on his legacy Tony Blair is to spend much of his remaining time as Prime Minister trying to piece together an agreement on climate change. Along with German Chancellor Angela Merkel he is hoping against hope that some consensus can be reached with the US, China and India in time for an announcement of some sort during next month’s G8 summit at Heiligendamm.
As is to be expected the US is firmly resisting anything that resembles a commitment.
