As Japan moves ever closer to a new constitution that will drop the pacifist clauses insisted on by the United States what does this mean for East Asia?
North Korea has nuclear arms and remains belligerent. The China / Taiwan conflict doesn't seem any nearer to resolution. What will Japan do? If it militarises will it pursue a nuclear arsenal of it's own with three of its neighbours so armed?
I can't help thinking that this is not a step forward.
