The bearer of glad tidings

Nobel prize winner Mohammed ElBaradei, the head of the the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency, rarely seems to have good news to tell us. Even when he does, such as when he told us that Iran had no nuclear weapons or nuclear weapons programme, no one seems to pay attention.

Yesterday he told us that Iran is very close to having material amounts of enriched uranium; enough in fact to be made into nuclear weapons material. He also warned that to attack Iran at this juncture "would be catastrophic, it would be an act of madness, and it would not solve the issue". Why is do I think this is bad news you ask?

This is why!
