Blood money from "green" fuel

Rightwing paramilitaries have moved into a lucrative sideline in the US's key, and perhaps only, Latin American ally Colombia by involving themselves in violent land grabs that see peasants thrown off their land, by illegal or quasi-legal means, to pave the way for tropical forests to cleared. The newly recovered land is then turned into palm oil plantations by biofuel conglomerates some whom are receiving US government subsidies.
