Is this the key that sank a famous ship (and launched a thousand films)?

The key for the cupboard which contained the HMS Titanic's binoculars which was not on the ship when it sailed is to be auctioned as part of lot that is expected to fetch in the neighbourhood of £70,000. Had the second officer not taken the key with him when he was called off the ship before sailing the crew would have been able to use the binoculars when keeping watch, they might have seen the iceberg and the ship might still be afloat. We also wouldn't know who Leonardo DiCaprio is.
