The Queen is coming! The Queen is coming!

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second of England and Wales and Elizabeth the First of Scotland is is coming to Virginia and boy are the natives excited.

The state has even included a special section on royal etiquette on their website should you be one of the fortunate few to meet her. It includes this helpful hint:

"When first meeting the Queen, she should be addressed as "Your Majesty" and then "Ma'am" (rhymes with jam) thereafter.

Did they really believe it necessary to tell the good people of Virginia how to pronounce "Ma'am"? It isn't as if they don't use the word about 200 times a day, is it?
