US goes softly, softly on Nigeria

US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer went before a Congressional committee this week and urged them not to isolate Nigeria despite their spotty to dismal record as a democracy. She urged the legislators to overlook the ballot stuffing, the voter intimidation and the corruption. Why should we overlook these things? Wait, I almost forgot; they have oil. In that case all is forgiven!
