The forces of the Far North Atlantic Treaty Organisation are preparing to finally begin withdrawing as the end of their 39th year of occupation nears. This wind down would never have been possible if a 114 year old Lord Paisley of No Surrender to the IRA had not come to the troubled land to lend his expertise as a great peacemaker earlier in the year. He been accompanied on his trip by his adopted son Sir Gerry Adams.
The man most responsible for the failed effort, former American Emperor George W. Bush, could not be reached at his retirement home in Paraguay from which he is fighting extradition to Den Haag where he is currently being tried, in absentia, for war crimes in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Venezuela. In contrast New Afghani President Osama bin Laden was quoted as saying "God is great and the Great Satan has been defeated".
