To its shame, the Australian Senate has approved a set of racist laws binding the behaviour of aborigines only. Native Australians will have restrictions imposed on their welfare and will be banned from consumption of alcohol and pornography. In addition there will be mandatory medical checks for children and 73 communities will be taken over by the state. The measures are ostensibly intended to curtail child abuse.
Perhaps they will consider similar restrictions on Roman Catholic priests, medical checks for altar boys and a government take over of the Archdioceses of Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
