What's wrong with Alaska?

I'm not sure why but I somehow associate political corruption with hot, muggy summer weather; fat cigar smoking white men sweating through white suits in the back rooms of cheap hotels. I've probably seen too many mediocre black and white films from the forties and fifties.

Now it would seem that my mental picture is not at all that accurate and I should alter my perception to fat cigar smoking men in parkas. I reckon I'll just have to learn to adjust.
