I've written about this before but I am gravely concerned with the new American policy as regards the US, space and defence.
To me the most distressing element is the statement that the US will work to deny space to those it deems "hostile to U.S. interests" (presumably with access to habeas corpus or a right to appeal).
Does this grant other countries the right to attempt to deny America access to space if they deem US access in space contrary to their interests. I assume America will say no. The basis of this response can only be an expression of America's belief in their own hegemony.
It worries me and it probably means the death of the dream of the United Federation of Planets.
