Who's meddling?

Bolivia's President Evo Morales has spoken harshly about foreign interference in the Bolivian political process and threatened harsh action against diplomats who involve themselves in politics. The threat is clearly directed against the wholly innocent and beyond reproach American embassy. Despite the fact that declassified embassy documents clearly indicate that US funded efforts to oppose Morales's Movement Toward Socialism party as recently as 2002 a spokesman for the US Embassy, Eric Watnik, said yesterday that "cooperation from the U.S. is apolitical". (The first "a" in apolitical as Mr. Watnik uses it clearly being silent.)
