Have you ever noticed the abortion / death penalty opinion paradox? This is where there is a disjoint between people's thoughts on the death penalty and abortion rights. I fall into the anti-death penalty / pro choice camp myself. I have found that of the four choices available (pro-pro, pro-anti, anti-pro & anti-anti) the majority of folks fall into either the pro-anti or the anti-pro camps. There aren't a lot of people who are opposed to capital punishment and opposed to abortion or in favour of capital punishment and in favour of abortion.
For most of us then there is clearly an opportunity to have our positions challenged on the basis of inconsistency and, as I have found out, it can make for treacherous ground to defend.
So imagine that you are a member of the pro death penalty (appropriate punishment for sinners), anti abortion (it's murder!). What the hell do you do in a case like this?
Kill the sinner, murder the baby?
Spare the sinner, spare the baby?
Kill the sinner after childbirth, orphan the baby?
Maybe it will make their head's explode!
