Kraft's China volte-face

If they can do it for 1.2 billion people why won't they do it for 300 million? Kraft has announced that it eliminate all genetically modified ingredients from products sold in China.

However buried in the article is perhaps the long term strategy for both China and Europe. The article cites a report by Agricultural Biotechnology Europe that suggests that the European ban (and hence the Chinese as well) will become unsupportable in the long term. Why? Everyone's planting GM so non-GM prices will rise "as it becomes harder to secure GM-free supplies".

I can hear the grating voice now:

"Jeffrey you'll eat everything on your plate and you'll like it! Or no pudding, no telly and straight to bed!"
