You don't have to be a gun control advocate (but I am) to know that this idea is just plain wrong on so many different levels.
A Wisconsin lawmaker, Frank Lasee (R-Bellevue) is going to introduce legislation to allow teachers, principals and school administrators to carry concealed weapons in school. (I don't know why he left out the janitors, nurses and dinner ladies though.)

"To make our schools safe for our students to learn, all options should be on the table," said Lasee. "Israel and Thailand have well-trained teachers carrying weapons and keeping their children safe from harm. It can work in Wisconsin.
"The element of surprise is a powerful tool," said Lasee. "In Israel and Thailand several lives have been saved because criminals don't want to attack schools where well-trained marksmen and women may return fire."
Just to show what a kind hearted liberal he is Mr. Lasee's bill will not require the carrying of arms.
I think I'll head off and print up a couple of thousand "Guns don't kill people. Unarmed people kill people." t-shirts. Anyone out there in Madison who'd like to flog them for me?
