Well if one is to believe the Russians (and their credibility on the issue is somewhat suspect) it is going to cost billions of dollars to correct the environmental impact of the Sakhalin II project. Oleg Mitvol, a Russian environmental officer said of the response so far from Sakhalin Energy:
