For those concerned about the sustainability of the seafood they eat I would recommend the valuable website Fish On Line which provides information on the fish to avoid and the fish that remain OK to eat. I am relieved to know that it's OK to eat anchovies as long as I avoid those from the Bay of Biscay. I shall have to reluctantly bid adieu to monkfish and skate though.
Am I imagining things or do I have a recollection from my youth that the sea was going to be the saviour of mankind, providing limitless foodstuffs? (Perhaps it still will as long as we eat algae!)
