Will these mean no Golden Bears for Tom or John?

The German authorities are poised to crack down on the "Church" of Scientology. While it is permitted to operate in Germany relationships with the German government have always been tense. The government does not grant it tax exempt status and treats it as a business or a cult. In a new move the Berlin government has told the police investigate the movement's use of after school tutoring programmes. Educations have issued warnings to schools relating to the use of these tutoring programmes as a means to indoctrinate children.

Once again demonstrating that the US is a force for good everywhere the American embassy has lobbied "the German government on the sect's behalf".

I guess Messrs. Cruise and Travolta have crossed the Berlin film festival off their schedules then.
