Republican campaign consult Roger Stone, who stands accused of making a threatening phone call to the octogenarian father of New York's Democratic governor Eliot Spitzer, claims that he did not make the call even if it is traced to his flat. His explanation of the events is that his landlord, a known Spitzer supporter, used his keys to enter the flat and make the call in order to discredit Mr. Stone.
