Why does he hate ExxonMobil?

In today's Guardian Jonathan Steele opines that it is a good thing that the Iraq oil law has stalled. Doesn't he know this is a benchmark? A benchmark!

He does tell us that, despite all the talk from Bush&co about revenue sharing, the law doesn't actually address revenue sharing, it says that another law should address revenue sharing, but it does address the "need" to turn over all of the country's unexploited or undiscovered oil reserves to foreign, probably American, firms.

"Well what's wrong with that?" I ask. Is that what we are fighting the bloody war for?

Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't realise that no one was supposed to know. Is there going to be a hidden WMD law as well then?
