It's not everyday that you get to see a Nobel Laureate on the stage (and I for one haven't). But lucky audiences at the Royal Court Theatre will get to see just that as Harold Pinter stars in Krapp's Last Tape. It is the highlight of the season celebrating the centenary of Beckett's birth. (I couldn't get a ticket. There are only 10 shows and they sold out in about 15 minutes when they went on offer.)
There was another production, or more a project, of Krapp's Last Tape launched this year as well. Three actors have recorded the tape portion of the script this year and the tapes will be held by the BBC until 2036 when the play will actually be produced. This assumes that at least one of the three actors is still alive in thirty year's time.
