In what is probably not good news for Pakistan's President Pervez "The General" Musharraf activist judges on the country's Supreme Court have order the release of Javed Hashmi freed on bail. Mr. Hasmi, an opponent of The General, has been convicted of trying to start an uprising in the Army and had been sentenced to 23 years in prison. I am surprised that The General hadn't commuted the sentence himself as he ought to have a deep understanding of, and sympathy for, anyone who might want to start an Army uprising!
