Rave reviews

It is Prom season in London, if you are not British and don't know what the Proms are go here for more information, and Venezuela's Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra has received rave reviews for its performance earlier in the week. Led by the young Gustavo Dudamel, a Simon Rattle dévoteé is the result of Venezuela's rather remarkable strides in musical education which ensures even the poorest have access to training and instruments. You can listen to the BBC broadcast of their performance here (Prom 48).

I am indeed critical of many Presidente Chavez's autocratic moves but he has certainly done much good as well.
