The Bush White House stands accused of meddling in the affairs of the Environmental "Protection" Agency as it has been revealed that the Office of Management and Budget forced the EPA to review a less stringent guideline for ground level ozone (aka smog).
I am sure it was just the result of some slight confusion in communication and not a serious attempt to override the scientific advice.
