Did they tip their hand on Iran?

In the new book Hubris by Michael Isikoff and David Corn there is apparently discussion of an attempt to lure Saddam into war by smuggling exile fighters into Iraq in order to take over a military base and provoke Saddam into retaliating thereby providing an excuse for war.

The code name for this operation (which was eventually cancelled) was Anabasis. Anabasis is an ancient Greek text by Xenophon the Athenian and it means "march up country" but the story itself tells of Xenophon's march to Persia to help Cyrus the Younger wrest the throne from his brother Artaxerxes. Modern Persia is Iran.

The books also quotes Bush as saying to Ari Fleischer in reference to Saddam:

"I'm going to kick his sorry motherfucking ass all over the Mid East."
Such language. What would Jesus think?
