In what may be the longest standing case of a miscarriage of justice Coelophysis bauri a carnivirous dinsaur that lived around 300 million years ago (or less than 6000 years ago depending on you belief system) has been cleared of cannibalism. Scientists from the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) and Columbia University have reached this conclusion after re-examining fossilised remains. To quote Sterling Nesbitt, part of the research team, "iIt's not completely outrageous to say these guys were cannibals, it's just the evidence to say that they were, is no longer there".
Following the publication of their results in Biology Letters the team is expected to move on the Nicole Simpson case.
