I agree with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Does this make me a paid up member of the Axis of Evil or just of the booster club?

I should state that I don't often agree with Iranian President and if the two of us were to sit down and have a chat I suspect that we wouldn't find a great deal of common ground outside of distrust of the American government. However yesterday, in his speech the UN General Assembly he said:

"if the governments of the United States or the United Kingdom, who are permanent members of the Security Council, commit aggression, occupation and violation of international law, which of the organs of the United Nations can take them to account?"

The answer is, of course, no one. The new world order is not that different from the old. The powerful make the rules and break the rules as they see fit. The only hope in democratic societies is that their voters hold them to account. Unfortunately there seems to be insufficient will to do this in the UK and even less in the US.
